New Badge For Dorset Wilts Wing

A new Badge for Dorset Wilts Wing has just been officially approved by the College of Arms.  The design features Stonehenge, a world-famous feature of the landscape within the Wing, which signifies both constancy and permanency, together with a Wyvern, the traditional symbol associated with Wessex.

The Latin motto is A PRINCIPIO HIC ADSUMUS, which can be translated as “We are present here from the beginning”.

The approved badge was officially presented to the Wing by Thomas Woodcock, Garter, the Garter King of Arms and Inspector of Royal Air Force Badges at a special ceremony at the College of Arms in London, attended by Flt Lt Roger Starling, Dorset Wilts Wing Media Communications Officer, and Flt Lt John Tunesi, HQAC Special Project Officer for Badges & Protocol.
