Hundreds of cadets and staff representing Air Cadet units throughout Dorset & Wiltshire gathered for a special parade on Sunday, 4th September to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Air Cadets. The parade was held at Bowood House, Calne, by kind permission of Lord Lansdowne.

The Inspecting Officer was the Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty, and VIP guests included Col James Arkell, Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Wiltshire; Gp Capt Tom Lyons, Station Commander of MOD Boscombe Down; Wg Cdr Phil Arnold, Station Commander Defence Academy of the United Kingdom; and Mr James Gray, MP for North Wiltshire.

“I am delighted that we had this opportunity to celebrate the 75th anniversary of what I firmly believe to be one of the best youth organisations in Britain in such a splendid location” said Wing Commander Vanessa Toth, Officer Commanding Dorset Wilts Wing ATC. “The ATC motto ‘Venture-Adventure’ really sum-up what we have to offer to young people and we now look forward to celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2041″.
